Overview

Food and Beverage Assistants are primarily responsible for providing food and drink to guests. This can involve direct table service or topping up buffet selections with fresh food, serving guests in the buffet queue, or working behind a bar mixing drinks. Their primary duties and responsibilities include

Guest Service Associate Responsibilities:

  • Greeting guests as they arrive at the venue, directing guests to tables, providing menus, and taking orders.
  • Assisting Chefs by washing vegetables, assembling sandwiches, sourcing ingredients from the stock room, or plating up dishes.
  • Keeping any bar and drink service areas fully stocked with beverages.
  • They are taking drinks orders and serve drinks to guests at their tables or throughout the venue.
  • Opening wine bottles at the table and pouring drinks for guests.
  • Wiping down tables and chairs, removing rubbish, and clearing event spaces.

Require Skills:

  • Excellent food service skills, including the ability to carry three plates and deliver drinks on trays.
  • Excellent communication and listening skills.
  • The ability to be able to work flexible times (some evenings).
  • Accurate and efficient cash-handling skills.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
